Product Description |
| The Amazing Treat Machine is an exciting and innovative interactive dog toy. It automatically rewards your dog with treats when he or she drops a tennis ball inside. By nature, dogs are hunters and workers. Using the Amazing Treat Machine will stimulate these primal instincts within your dog. Think of the feeling you get when solving a crossword puzzle, shooting a basket, or playing a game. Your dog will experience that same excitement every time a tennis ball and treats roll out of the Amazing Treat Machine. The design is as simple as it is clever. Made of quality kraft linerboard cardboard, the Amazing Treat Machine easily folds together without glue or tape. You supply a plastic water bottle (16.9oz works best) for the internal treat dispenser, your own tennis ball, and the treats. Working with your dog to train him or her to use the Amazing Treat Machine is part of the fun. To get them started you can drop the ball inside to show them how it’s done. Assembly and training instructions are available on our website at AmazingTreatMachine.com. The Amazing Treat Machine is 10 inches wide by 10 inches deep and 12 inches tall. It is made in California of approximately 30% post-consumer recycled material. You should always supervise your dog while he or she uses the Amazing Treat Machine and put it away when not in use. With care your Amazing Treat Machine can last many months. Once worn, it is 100% recyclable. |

I bought this for my Belgian Tervuren. He loves it. I put his food into the bottle and he will happily work at getting his food. He gives me a dirty look when I put his food in his bowl instead of using the "magic box"
If you fill the bottle nearly full the food will come out slowly-Andre will drop the ball into the box over and over even when the food does not come out.
I just bought another one so I will have a spare it the first one wares out.

Interesting idea, but not so amazing

I was hoping to find a good puzzle toy that is a little less than some of the options out there (Nina Ottosson toys, for example, which we love, they are just pricey). Unfortunately this isn't a good alternative. I wasn't expecting a cardboard treat system to be on the same level as wood or plastic toys, but I did expect it to work.
The assembly video on their website wasn't very helpful. The majority of which focused on cutting the holes in the water bottle, (thanks, but I got that part after you cut the first triangle) and then inserting the bottle in the (magically assembled) box. The assembly of the box was bypassed entirely. This is the most complicated part of the "easy" assembly. The instructions aren't the best written.
It doesn't work quite as smoothly as the toy in the video. Sometimes treat drop out, sometimes they don't. We also found that just a couple drops of the ball into the box and the bottle drops out also. Our dog would argue that's a plus, we would not.
Great that it's recyclable, but I'll be recycling this much earlier than I had anticipated. |
Disappointing Treat Machine

| The product description did not state that this interactive dog toy is for large dogs. We have a dog that is 18 pounds and she is not able to get the ball up and into the box without a struggle. Also, if you are not very careful in the construction of the box, you will destroy it. I would not recommend this product. We are very disappointed! |
Where is the other half of the product?

| Did not come with plastic bottle & ball! I had a hard time getting the right size bottle & a hard time cutting the bottle. |
